The Andersen® gliding window opening control device is a dual-action device that may be installed on the sill of the window and limits the opening of the venting window to less than four inches when the sash is first opened.Release of the device allows the sash to be further opened for full sash ventilation and/or emergency escape and rescue. The opening control devices are automatically reset once the sash is returned to its fully closed position.
The gliding window opening control devices meet requirements of ASTM F2090-08 and ASTM F2090-10 for Window Fall Prevention Devices With Emergency Escape and (Egress) Release Mechanisms. Always check with your local code official for all local code requirements and to determine if the minimum window sill height code has been adopted in your area and to determine if this device is accepted as an alternative to the minimum sill height requirement.
